Reducing Carbon Emissions in Buildings
Carbon emissions from buildings make up over 70% of New York State's total Green House Gas emissions. In order to reduce these emissions buildings need to become more energy efficient, transfer to all electric and use renewable energy sources. Reaching Net-Zero by 2050 requires a significant increase in spending on physical assets so, in order to incentivize this amongst building owners the NYS government has introduced rebates for property owners that install energy efficient measures into their building. Rebates are available for all measures that are above the 2022 state energy code, all throughout NYS.
